Dear Students, Families, and Community Members,
We are writing to you today following the completion of an exceedingly difficult and sensitive investigation into employee wrongdoing, conducted by law enforcement authorities. We understand that this has been a challenging time for our entire school community, and we want to acknowledge the concerns, questions, and frustrations many of you have experienced.
Throughout this process, our ability to share information was limited by the requirements of law enforcement. These restrictions were necessary to ensure the integrity of the investigation and to allow it to proceed thoroughly and appropriately. While we recognize that this lack of communication has been difficult, we appreciate your understanding of the importance of following these legal guidelines. We want to reassure our school community that during the initial investigation no students or staff members were identified as victims. If victims had been   discovered, Gilmer ISD would have notified any impacted persons immediately.
We extend our sincere gratitude to our families and community members for your patience during this time. Your trust in our school district, even amid uncertainty, has meant a great deal. We are especially thankful to the parents and guardians who continued to support our schools and staff while this situation was being addressed.
Please know that the safety and well-being of our students remain our highest priority. As we move forward, we are committed to maintaining a safe, supportive, and transparent environment for everyone in our school community.
