Academic Fall Fest and Parent Night, MONDAY, October 27th! Please read.

Posted Date: 10/23/25 (8:51 AM)

Good morning GIS Families!

I wanted to take time and explain the Parent Night portion of the Academic Fall Fest! The first 40 minutes of the night will be times that you and your student will follow your student's schedule (in order) to hear information about the class. It is important to visit the classes in order as we have teachers that teach different subjects throughout the day.

Teachers will discuss classroom expectations for behavior, academics, and homework. They will also discuss the grading policy for their class. As time permits, they may cover additional information.

Time will not permit for teachers to communicate with parents about individual students. If you have specific questions or concerns about your child's progress, please reach out to the teacher and schedule an individual conference.

Once Parent Night ends, families will be directed to the ally behind the school to play academic games for candy, vote on pumpkins, eat nachos and lemonade (free of charge), and visit the book fair. We will begin with Parent night at 5:00 and end the night at 7:00pm.

We hope to see you there as this will be a great informational night and fun for the entire family! Feel free to allow students to wear their costumes that night as well!

Also starting Monday, October 27th (during the school day) is Red Ribbon Week. Each day has a theme that aligns with choosing to be "DRUG FREE". Students may dress according to the theme each day. This is NOT mandatory. If students dress up, dress up attire must remain in dress code according to our school dress code policy. We look forward to all the fun next week will bring, and look forward to spending time with you and your family next Monday night!
